The Educational Services Division (Ed Services) provides a broad range of research-based instructional training, assistance, intervention services, and leadership training to the eighteen districts within Alameda County, the seven counties within Region IV, and statewide.
During 2010-11, Ed Services continued to focus primarily on low-performing schools by continuing to build and support teaching and learning environments that promote educational excellence and equity for all students. Ed Services experts provided over 478 programs and direct services aligned with state standards and mandates and the federal No Child Left Behind (NCLB) legislation. We administered cutting-edge professional development, technical assistance, and intervention services to an area comprised of approximately 101 districts, 1,180 schools, 1.3 mil. students and 34,000 teachers.
We continued to provide leadership to create, sustain and leverage expertise and collaborations that identify solutions to problems common among districts and schools and that generate resources through grants development, collaborative program planning, research, and support networks.
