Art IS Education
Art IS Education is an annual, much anticipated county-wide showcase demonstrating the power of youth learning in and through the arts. Each March, during National Arts Education Month, local schools, school districts, libraries and community arts organizations mount exhibitions, performances and public events, where students have opportunities to share the process through which they have learned new skills, solved problems, taken risks, and persisted through obstacles, in order to bring form to their ideas expressed in works of art.
All schools and school districts in Alameda County are encouraged to participated in this countywide celebration and contribute to creating a diverse festival of the arts across 18 school districts.
Plan an arts learning event at your school or other community venue and use the online toolkits to support your planning. Use these guidelines and share images of your student artwork and lesson plans involving ecological themes of the County Sustainability website.
