Public Hearing on Proposed Trustee Area Redistricting Plan for the Alameda County Board of Education

Notice is hereby given that the Alameda County Board of Education will hold a Public Hearing, in accordance with Education Code section 5019.5, on Tuesday, February 14, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at the Alameda County Office of Education, 313 West Winton Avenue, Hayward, California, to receive public comment on a proposed Redistricting Plan. Redistricting is the process of conforming the County Board of Education’s seven trustee areas to the requirement that they are nearly as equal in population as practicable based on the 2010 United States Census.

At the public hearing, the Board will receive additional public comment on the proposed trustee boundary changes. Proposed maps and statistics are available at the links below, or by contacting the Board Secretary’s office at (510) 670-4145.

Your Comments Are Invited

  • Public Comment on the proposed Redistricting Plan is invited either in writing or at the public hearing scheduled for Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at 10:00 a.m.
  • The public is urged to submit written comments by letter, facsimile, or email, which must be received no later than Friday, February 10, 2011 at 10:00 a.m., in order to be copied and provided to the Board for review.
  • Following the hearing, the Board may vote on a final Redistricting Plan for the trustee area boundaries.
  • Written comments will receive the same attention as verbal comments received at the Public Hearing.
