The Alameda County Office of Education is led by Superintendent Sheila Jordan, who oversees all departments, including Student Programs & Services (SPAS). SPAS is led by Associate Superintendent of Education L. Karen Monroe. Each of the school sites has a principal and lead teacher, and each program is overseen by a director or coordinator. SPAS operates with a staff of 57 certificated and 55 classified personnel who provide educational services to several thousands students a year ranging from birth to 19 years of age representing the 18 public school districts in Alameda County, as well as some students from outside Alameda County.
